Brand new artist Jessica Song has encountered stardom in a matter of weeks. From singing songs in her bedroom and posting them online, to now recording and writing songs in the studio.
Jessica’s mum answered the phone one day whilst “Jessie” (chart tops nickname) was at school, when returning home her mum told her the good news that she would be signing with ‘National Anthem’, they saw her videos online and was intrigued by her music and that there was definitely room in the industry for her music. She was so emotional but blissful. She phoned them back the following day and they called her in to start recording the following week.
However, Jessie openly admits that this wasn't her first time of trying to become famous...at the age of 9 she auditioned for the theater production ‘Annie’ at the West End. She luckily got to the final stage before unfortunately, getting beaten to the role.
Thereafter she taught herself how to play the keyboard and the guitar and tried out her luck on The X Factor at 14 years of age although wasn't able to get to the live productions. She lost confidence in her ability to become an artist but she could never stop writing. So she made her own you tube channel where she got many likes and subscribes before eventually getting signed! Jessie is now growing to becoming one of Britain's biggest artists and we wish her the best of luck:)

Q- What problems have you encountered on your journey to stardom?
A- I've had problems with the paparazzi following me round 24/7 which has been hard to deal with especially when hanging out with my friends. One morning i woke up to 10 people on my door step trying to take a picture, its crazy. Its effort every day to look my best as they are just waiting for me to look a mess, aha! But i now know not to let them control my life.
Q- Any plans of releasing an album soon ?
A- I have a few singles lined up for my fans to hear before the release of an album because i don't want to be known as a one hit wonder. I will only write in my own time and wont be rushed into anything although i'm loving recording and glad that my music is finally being listened to.
Q- Who is your idol? and why?
A- My idol has always been Taylor Swift, I've always listened to her music growing up and has been inspired by her lyrics. She is a great role model for all musicians as i'm working to achieve everything she has. I may even one day hopefully get a Brit award and eventually meet her.
Q- What are your plans for the future?
A- I plan on the release of a few singles before then making an album and hopefully go on to having my own tour instead of being someones else's start act. At the end of the i want to always continue to write music and perform live as i find it so rewarding. But i hope i stay the same person in the long run.
Q- What do you like to do in your spare time?
A- I do what any other teenage girl does and try and not let being famous stand in the way. I’m still having to study A Levels on the side so i can secure a clear future but other than that i still hang out with my friends, go to the cinema, go shopping. I just don't want to miss out on my childhood and drift a part from my friends. However it’s weird being spotted out in public.
Q- Was music your only goal?
A- Music is my one true passion in life , however i studied art, drama and psychology alongside music as i wanted to have a back up. The music industry is so difficult to get into and i am one of the lucky ones to get a chance. Although i wouldn't mind being an actress as i love to perform.
